Prep Work

The secret to long-lasting paint is all in the surface of the project.

When it comes to being a painter, many times more than half of the work takes place before we ever crack open a can of paint. At Blue Mountain Painting we take special care to make sure we are thorough with our prep work and never skip steps. This ensures not only that the finished product will look amazing but that it will stand up to the test of time and the elements. We always pay attention to detail in all of our painting services.

Protect

Cover all floors with, paper or drop clothes and all furniture with plastic sheeting.

Repair

Patch and repair all holes, dents and scratches in ceilings walls or woodwork.

Clean

Wipe down all wood work thoroughly with TSP to ensure a clean surface.

Sand

Lightly sand all substrates to a smooth surface to create maximum adhesion.

Prime

Prime bare wood, drywall or other areas as necessary with appropriate products.

Caulk

Caulk all gaps and cracks as necessary.

Wash

Power wash all surfaces to remove dirt and kill any mold or mildew.

Scrape

Scrape off all peeling, flaking or otherwise compromised paint.

Sand

Thoroughly sand all bare wood and other compromised areas.

Prime

Prime all bare wood and other necessary areas with appropriate products.

Caulk

Caulk all gaps and cracks as necessary.
